Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a copywriter or a mareting director?

Both. I started my career as a copywriter but then rose through the ranks until I was the head of first a department then a division. Despite being the top marketing guy, I still wrote the bulk of the copy my clients and employers used for their marketing. It was infinitely more efficient--and far less frustrating--to write my own copy rather than hiring a copywriter whose work I had to correct.

What are your rates?

I know a lot of copywriters post a flat fee for their work. I am not really sure how they do that. I've been in the game long enough to know that some jobs take longer than others. And, to be honest, some clients are much harder to work with than others. The problem with a flat fee is that I might be dedicating any number of hours to a job that, in theory, should take one or two. I prefer to give an estimate or parameters around which the project will revolve. It's better for you AND me!

Will you ghost write for me?

Yes. I will write your blog or press release or even your shopping list if you want me to! We will talk about how you will get me information to get started and what voice  you want to use. Your personal tone--the way you talk--may be perfect or we may need to make you sound a bit more, say, accessible. But we can figure all that out.

Where are you located?

Southwest Florida most of the time, the Georgia mountains some of the time.

Do you Skype or work over the telephone?

Of course. I am not sure why you'd want to actually look at me but if that is what you want then Skype away!

Do you still do graphic design?

I do. I keep my  hand in as much as I can just to stay sharp and in tune with the latest trends in the industry. I don't do a lot of print work these days as I once did. It used to comprise almost 100% of my and my team's output. Digital media is really a lot more cost effective for most businesses, so I encourage them to go that direction when possible. Besides, after decades of doing print designs, I find electronic design to be much less stressful!

What about logos?

Yep. Check out my logo design website, the Logo Design Group.
